Project 1

Extension to rear of detached dwelling in Benfleet.

The brief for this project was to create as much light as possible into the
proposed extension and existing effected lounge area. The client also liked to
regularly entertain within his home.
With the use of sliding folding doors to the rear elevation, the proposed
landscaped garden could be brought seamlessly into the living space during the
summer months.
The interior was finished with a contemporary decor and flush mounted dicoric
low voltage lighting bringing a modern but cosy environment for entertainment.

Project 2

Two storey extension to a rear, semi-detached dwelling in Wickford.

The brief for this project was to create an open plan kitchen/dining area
and to maintain as much natural light from the north facing garden.
On the first level, a larger kids bedroom is required.

With semi-detached houses, there are usually issues with affecting the amenities
of neighbouring properties. In this case, to overcome the issue and cause as
minimal detriment to the neighbouring property, the first floor level was
stepped in, allowing a 45° line of sight from the adjoining properties first floor
window.
To achieve more natural light, the lean-too, vaulted roof was glazed producing
a naturally bright and large open plan feel to the kitchen/dining room.

Project 3
Detached single storey spa and sauna house off Southchurch road.

The brief was simple. The client desired a spa and sauna room at the end of the garden
where time could be spent relaxing in an un-interrupted environment.

Not only was it possible to achieve the client’s brief, but also the expectations
of it. A large single storey but in keeping, masonry structure was designed
with the centre section of a shallow pitched roof in glass. The spa and sauna
was generously incorporated with the added bonus of a W.C. and seating/T.V. area. Externally the roof was extended over to give a sun shaded veranda area where the garden could be enjoyed throughout the four seasons.
Due to the building size and relationship with the surrounding structures,
planning permission was not required for this project.
